The Handmaid

Today a new handmaid arrived. She seemed to know her place unlike most of the other handmaids. I cant stand handmaid's who I have to put in line. They need to always keep in mind that I am the boss, they work for me and that I am superior to them. But anyway when she arrived she knew to wait at the door until I said she could enter and I did not have to remind her of her place. She treated me with the utmost respect and I was quite satisfied. Maybe this one will be able to bear me a child and if she can not im sure she will pay the price, which I do not mind.... handmaidens may be able to have children but I have the power so what does it matter!

    Personally, i think you are being a bit harsh. I understand watching the one you love make love to another must be hard, but its not her choice. Handmaidens are just doing as they are told.

    A lust for power seems to be contagious these days. Ma'am, I know it's not any of my business, but I do suggest you try and put yourself in the handmaid's shoes for a while. She is, after all, the only chance you have at getting a child.
